Wicanders present once again in Casa Decor

The most important exhibition of the Interior Design scene in Spain opened on January 24th for its 54th edition. This exhibition, with a unique concept in Europe, takes place every year in a different location in Madrid. This year it is being held in a singular manor house in the traditional neighborhood of Barrio de Salamanca.

Casa Decor 2019 hosts 55 spaces, all envisioned and decorated by Interior Designers, Architects and Designers.

Wicanders is, once again, amongst the participating companies of this important event, having supported two interior designers in planning their spaces: Erico Navazo and Raúl Martins.

Erico Navazo designed the Portuguese Embassy space, a space inspired in the simple and sophisticated lines of the Portuguese architecture from the 50’s. The space reflects Portugal’s culture, by including national and noble raw materials such as cork. In Erico’s space, cork was incorporated through Wicanders Dekwall, in a natural tone covering the walls for a sense of comfort and well-being.

Wicanders Dekwall was also the product selected by Raúl Martins to enhance the Natuzzi Italia space, planned by the designer. The chosen color, a light grey, gives the ideal neutral background for the introduction of colorful elements that punctuate the space.

Wicanders connection with Casa Decor is once again reinforced. Besides its presence in last year’s exhibition, Wicanders also organized in late September a trip for Interior Designers to its factory in Portugal. The 23 participants were able to connect with the benefits and singularities of the cork world, reinforcing this long relation between the brand and the event.

Throughout the next 6 weeks, the exhibition will be open to the public, giving the opportunity to visit this historic building decorated by the most relevant Interior Designers.
